In Touch Writing Services which was created in April 2023, was rebranded in August
2024 into Novel Touch. We at Novel Touch, offer a suite of training courses, writing, and
copyediting and proofreading services to our clients. With over 30 years of experience
in training, writing, editing and coordination, Mrs. Morton-Thomas is well-equipped to
deliver bespoke programmes to meet the needs of her clients. Her tenure in the field of
Tourism spanned over 20 years, serving as the Human Resources and Projects
Manager at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority and the Senior Tourism Projects Officer in the
Ministry of Tourism. She coordinated and conducted training courses for taxi operators
and other stakeholders, as well as oversaw Tourism Education and Community Tourism
projects.
Her writing expertise is due to her education, training and experience as she has been
engaged in writing and editing services for individuals and organisations, including
writing speeches and messages for past Prime Ministers of St. Kitts and Nevis since
1990. She was a teacher of English and Literature for several years, a Chief Information
Officer in the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service and a Senior Tourism Projects
Officer in the Ministry of Tourism. She has a Bachelor’s Degree with Upper Second
Class Honours in English Literature and French, a Master’s Degree in Mass
Communications, specialising in Public Relations, and a Diploma in Hospitality and
Tourism Management with Distinction.
From 2008, Mrs. Morton-Thomas was actively involved in The St. Kitts Ambassador
Programme executed by the St. Kitts Tourism Authority. She facilitated sessions in
Customer Service, Effective Communication, Conflict Resolution and Product
Knowledge for taxi operators and other members of the Allied Services sector. This
programme combined the theoretical and practical part of training as the trainees were
involved in tours of the tourism product as well. Mrs. Morton-Thomas was a dedicated
facilitator who utilised her knowledge, experience, and case studies to highlight the
importance of soft skills and to demonstrate the trainees’ role as ambassadors of the St.
Kitts Tourism Industry. Organisations, companies, taxi operators and other individuals
have benefitted from her sterling service and appreciated her 20-plus years of
experience in the tourism sector.
In recent times, she has embarked on her passions for training and freelance writing. In April and May 2025, Mrs. Morton-Thomas delivered successful training in “The Art of Effective Internal Communication”. Here is what participants had to say:
“It was a very interactive and engaging workshop.”
“The presenter was very knowledgeable and expressed herself professionally. The sessions should have been longer.”
“It was a 10 out of 10 workshop!”
“The workshop was very informative, and Ms. Morton knew how to interact and get everyone involved.”
In May 2025, during the Nevis Ministry of Tourism Entrepreneurship Training Workshop, held as part of the Tourism Awareness Month of Activities, Mrs. Morton-Thomas presented on “Sustainable Practices for Competitive Advantage”. Again, the feedback was very positive, with participants stating that the workshop exceeded their expectations.
Mrs. Morton-Thomas is a dynamic presenter, who through thorough research, practical experience, honed skills, engaging presentations and interactive sessions, stimulates workshop attendees to actively participate and share their ideas, thus ensuring that they learn and develop in the process, the end result being strengthened organisations.
